Biking the Bennington Area Trails

Bennington Vermont sits right on the base of the Green Mountains and is close to many beautiful hiking trails.  While hikers in the Bennington area have had miles of trails to walk on, mountain bikers have been forced to drive elsewhere for their fun.  Until now.
In 2015, a group of bikers from Bennington took matters into their own hands.  They got permission to start building mountain bike trails on the base of Mount Anthony and started looking for volunteers to help them build what is now known as "B.A.T.S." or the Bennington Area Trail System.
Although there are about 8 miles of smooth, flowy, single-track to ride on, two of the trails really stand out:  Hops and Vines and Halloween Tree.  Hops and Vines is a twisty, smooth, hard-packed single-track trail loaded with fast turns and fun downhills.  Halloween Tree and just as smooth and flowy, but a lot more up and down, like a roller coaster.  Both are fun ridden both ways.
The Bennington Area Trails are definitely something you want to check out if you live in the Bennington Area.  For more information, visit their site:  BATS
